Pygmy Killer Whale

Although the Pygmy Killer Whale has the word "whale" included in its name, this marine mammal is not a whale but it is indeed part of the dolphins family.

The word "pygmy" suggests that this dolphin is of smaller size then its cousin, the Killer Whale. Its length varies from 2.2 up to 2.7 meters long while its weight can reach a maximum of 225 kg.

The diet of the Pygmy Killer Whale consists of cephalopods, fishes and squids. The scientific name of this type of dolphin is Feresa Attenuata. If you ever have the opportunity to go on a dolphin watching tour in its natural habitat which includes both tropical and subtropical waters, you will certainly enjoy the experience.

If you wish to view a picture of the Pygmy Killer Whale, I invite you to go on the main page of this site called: "What are the 32 types of dolphins?" I also encourage you to look at the pictures and read the articles related to other dolphins species. After all, why not satisfy your curious mind?
