Ecotourism in tourism

Ecotourism in tourism applies when tourist attractions or activities are happening in a natural setting.

What is the definition of ecotourism? Simply that tourists are learning and observing living creatures in their natural habitat. Good examples of ecotourism are: dolphins tours St.Augustine, when you swim with the dolphins in Key West, dolphin watching, etc.

What is tourism as far as dolphins are concerned? It is when dolphins are displayed as an attraction. They may be shown in their natural habitat or in captivity during acrobatic shows or in an aquarium.

Both have their own advantages and both are linked together to a certain degree. For example, you can find ecotourism in tourism as tourists are attracted by these two types of educational activities. In ecotourism, you have the opportunity to observe dolphins in their natural habitat which will allow you to appreciate them in the wild as they are displaying their natural behavior.

In tourism, dolphins are often displayed as intriguing creatures in an aquarium that has informative signs and tour guides to educate you. You may also have the opportunity to be entertained by their acrobatic performance taught and supervised by the dolphins trainer.

So as you can see, it is easy to understand the presence of ecotourism in tourism. If someone is asking you: "What is the definition of ecotourism?" you will be able to give them an answer. Now, the rest is up to you! What will you choose: ecotourism, tourism or a combination of both of them?
